Your green playground

Bored?

If you find yourself with nothing to do this summer, GET OUTSIDE! Whether it be going for a walk or a leisurely bike ride, let the world be your playground. It's there for you to enjoy; the Charles River itself offers a multitude of opportunities to take advantage of the outdoors. Have kids? Community Boating (CBI) is a non-profit public sailing, windsurfing and kayaking facility that offers a 10-week Junior Summer Camp Program for a nominal fee of one dollar. Feeling active? Our website offers a list of places that rent out canoes and kayaks and links to some of the parks and reservations along the Charles. Looking for a celebration? Check out some of the events that happen on and along the river each June such as the Waltham Riverfest, the Boston Dragon Boat Festival, and the Charles River Fest. There is plenty of stuff to do; you just have to find it!

So, now that we've discussed your options the only question you should have is this: what should I do first!?

Stay safe and have fun!
