This weekend was my first time ever attending a rowing regatta. The 47th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta drew many people to the banks of the Charles. From where I watched, people were gathered around Eliot Bridge and were cheering for rowers. I found a tiny place between people on the river bank and tried to take snapshots through the crowd. There were many tents around Eliot bridge; some promoting various companies and organizations, while other offered refreshments if you liked.
I saw many different groups of rowers. Many of them were racing intensely, while their friends and family were cheering them on by shouting their names and encouraging words. Other rowers were standing still and resting, or getting ready for the next race. The rowers’ enthusiasm made me wish I could row in the next regatta!
