Last night was the 8th anual RiverSing along the Lower Charles. It's a community folk song and poetry event to usher in fall and a powerful reflection on the wonder the river can inspire. Almost every song is a discussion of the river from "So Sang the River" to "Sailing Down this Golden River" to "Down by the River Side." The Charles River and the parks along its banks were a beautiful venue for this event and an actor in this show as well as a setting.
"River, take me along
In your sunshine, sing me a song
Ever moving, and winding and free;
You rolling old river, you changing old river,
Let's you and me, river, run down to the sea."
-"River" by Bill Staines
