I started my internship with the CRWA last Wednesday and since then I've begun working on a wide variety of projects including compiling a guide to freshwater fish on the Charles River, some design work in preparation for the Champions of the Charles Gala, and water quality testing for the Flagging Program. The CRWA hopes to eventually put together a comprehensive field guide to wildlife along the Charles River and its tributaries. The Charles River doesn't have a wildlife guide so this would be a unique educational resource for visitors and residents of the watershed.
So far I've only been working in the office (which is great because they always seem to have snacks), but I'm really excited to head out from Community Rowing on Wednesday morning for the Flagging Program! I'm looking forward to my time with the CRWA this fall and the opportunity to watch the changing scenery along the Charles River. I will try and post a photograph from the Charles every week as well.
