Fun in the Park

This Sunday, Cataia and I will be going as CRWA's representatives to the Sunday Fun in the Park program put on by the Esplanade Association along the Charles. We're hoping to let kids have a lot of fun interacting with the CRWA "Watershed in a Box," where they can rearrange aspects of the model, add in various sources of everyday pollution, and simulate precipitation events by "making it rain" on the model; hopefully, they'll also be learning some valuable lessons about pollution sources and watershed management when they see the multi-colored lake that ultimately collects at the bottom. It's sure to be a great time for everyone, so we hope to see you there!
On another note, today we said a sad farewell to our fellow intern Avery, whose hard work and dedication on the flagging program, the Charles River field guide, and many other ongoing projects has been truly appreciated. With August winding down and only two of us summer interns left, we're now making sure that all of our work and long-term projects are finished up in time, or ready to be taken up by the fall interns arriving in just a few short weeks.
